I currently offer individual and group supervision to music educators.

What is supervision, and why is it beneficial?

Supervision is all about providing support and guidance, helping and individual grow and flourish in your teaching journey. It fosters collaboration, equipping you with the necessary tools and confidence to help your students excel. Feel free to ask any questions, no matter how small, as this is a safe space for your growth and development.

Teaching music is an incredibly fulfilling career, but it can sometimes feel a bit isolating. When you're facing challenges with a student, working through a tough situation with a parent, contemplating your own personal development or simply need a little extra support, it can be hard to know where to turn. Compare this to the experience of a psychotherapist. Most private therapists belong to a professional body and are required to have regular supervision. This gives them the opportunity to discuss their experiences, get advice on specific issues, and receive guidance on various aspects of their practice. Wouldn't it be great to have that same kind of support as a music teacher?

The model for monthly group and individual supervision is crafted to meet the distinct requirements of each participant. Grounded in my own extensive experience in teaching, research, and academic supervision, it functions as a flexible framework that evolves over time. While key areas are identified, the model's effectiveness lies in its person-centred approach, ensuring that each session is tailored to promote individual growth and development.
