I will kiss you forever - Robert Smith
In 2019, Robert Smith began supporting Heart Research UK by creating his first piece for their anonymous heART project, saying that before then, he hadn’t “picked up paint with purpose for almost 30 years – my favourite creative medium has always been sound – but making these has inspired me to start drawing again…”
This artwork has been used as the stimulus for synaesthetic Composer Helen Madden to compose a new piece of music. This composition was then given to 5 synaesthetic artists to create their own painting or chosen medium of art to.

The new composition was also taken into workshops with community groups where the artists were asked to listen to the music and create their own artwork using the colours they heard in the music.

THE IDENTITY OF THE INITAL ARTWORK HAS BEEN KEPT SECRET UNTIL NOW SO NOT TO INFLUENCE THE ARTISTIC RESPONSE OF THE PARTICIPANTS.

All artwork will be displayed in the Barnsley Civic Panorama until June 4th 2022. We look forward to sharing the artwork on this website once the exhibition is launched on 08/05/2022
